I'm Restoring Them- Any Input?

Description

***NOTE: This is an INCOMPLETE project that I am seeking advice on. Your ideas and thoughts are welcome!

BACKGROUND INFO:
These are two seahorses that I made several years ago, they've seen a lot of wear and tear, and most of their fins and embellishments have torn off. They were made with styrofoam, chicken wire and paper mache.
I'm looking to defiantly restore the smaller 4' tall seahorse, and possibly restore the larger 6' one as well.

WHAT I'M ASKING YOU FOR:
Any thoughts you might have on colours, fin shapes, embellishments, etc. is welcome. I'm especially interested in suggestions on how to make them a bit more fanciful/whimsical, and how to make my fins stronger (the previous ones were just made of many paper mache layers).

These are wonderful!

I work in paper mache. I suggest using a paper mache clay recipe for a stronger bond at the joints...you can find it at www.ultimatepapermache.com.

Also, I did a guest post there that might offer you some ideas on strengthening your piece:

Good luck!
